Visitor-Level Segmentation
Truviso Visitor Insight & Analytics was designed to track and segment unique visitors or users and create ad-hoc segments quickly, easily and intuitively.
Why visitors and not just visits? It’s simple: it usually takes more than one visit or interaction to make a purchase or engage with your brand. Unless you can track visitors and their history of interactions, you’re only looking at one tree in a very large forest.
To that end, Visitor Segments in Visitor Insight are groups of real people, not just filters on visits. A segment is a discrete group of people with one or more common characteristics, behaviors or attributes. This is a critical concept to consider, since most web analytics tools use ‘filters’ and ‘segments’ synonymously. But what does that really mean for you?
- With Visitor Insight you can identify everyone who responded to a marketing campaign in August, and follow the activity of just these people through September and October.
- Find customers who purchased a product 3 months ago, then commented or rated it within the next 2 weeks.
- If you can identify an event or activity - anything a person did inside or outside of a reporting period - you can build a visitor segment around it.
Visitor Insight’s drag and drop visual Segment Builder makes creating segments fast and easy. Just pick dimensions and metrics (or start with existing segments), drag them into the page, and add as much or as little Boolean logic as is necessary to identify the visitors you want. Segments can be made private or shared with a group, and then applied to just about any standard or custom report in the system.
Additionally, Visitor Insight & Analytics enables you to compare segments and determine segment composition – what people are members of two or three segments? Identifying heavy users, frequent visitors, and topics of interest is an easy way to find an isolate a new segment of highly engaged visitors.
